About the role
Operates heavy power equipment (e.g., lawn mowers, chainsaws, brush cutters, chippers, snow blowers) and hand/light power tools to maintain buildings, grounds, roads, and trails. Loads and unloads materials; moves furniture; installs signs; paints tables and signs; maintains lawns and vegetation; collects litter; repairs fire pits. Performs manual labor including digging, grading, breaking pavement, and mixing/pouring concrete, asphalt, and similar materials. Moves heavy loads using wheelbarrows and hand trucks; cuts and clears trees and vegetation; stacks logs, lumber, and materials. Performs janitorial duties for buildings and grounds as needed. This is a temporary seasonal appointment not to exceed 1,560 hours under the Office of Personnel management (OPM) approved exception.
