Director, Office of Foundational Business

The Director, Office of Foundational Business, serves as a key executive leader within the Flight Standards Service with responsibility for leading enterprise-wide business, safety management, certification, training, and organizational support functions that enable the effective execution of the Flight Standards safety oversight mission, as well as the Civil Aviation Registry. In the discharge of these duties and responsibilities, the Director exercises executive leadership and program direction over five Flight Standards divisions. The Director administers a budget of approximately $130M and provides executive direction and oversight to over 450 employees, including direct supervision of two executives and 5 L-bands. Specific responsibilities include: Provides strategic direction, policy leadership, and executive oversight for programs supporting the FAA's Safety Management System (SMS) framework and State Safety Program (SSP) obligations, ensuring organizational consistency, regulat
