About the role
The Division of Enforcement investigates possible violations of securities laws and, when appropriate, recommends Commission enforcement action. The Office of Chief Counsel serves as the chief legal and policy advisor to the Division Director and the Division and provides guidance and consultation on a wide range of matters of programmatic importance. Duties: Managing the activities of Office of Chief Counsel staff members who provide legal and policy advice on enforcement matters and are responsible for the creation and implementation of policies and procedures. Managing and coordinating the work of teams of attorneys and support staff in a collaborative and positive environment, and performing a full range of supervisory duties, including setting priorities and preparing schedules for completion of work; motivating performance; conducting performance evaluations; resolving issues; mentoring and training staff; and identifying development and training opportunities for employees.
