About the role
As a Maintenance Worker, you will perform the following duties: Performing recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher-graded workers. Replacing light switches and household light fixtures and changing light bulbs. Mixing masonry cement, sand and water, cinder blocks and flagstone. Performing concrete and plaster touch up around existing historic and other masonry structures. Testing and treating wastewater. Operating and performing minor maintenance on vehicles such as ten-wheel dump truck, front end loader, bulldozer, and hot oil distributer. Performing engineering equipment operation. Chalmette, Louisiana: Chalmette is home to the Chalmette Battlefield and National Cemetery, located six miles southeast of New Orleans. It is the historic site of the 1815 Battle of New Orleans and serves as the final resting place for U.S. soldiers from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, World Wars I and II, and Vietnam.
