Achieving this goal requires more than cutting-edge research—it also demands deep, durable engagement with policymakers, institutions, industry leaders, and communities shaping the future of AI around the world. The Global Affairs team leads this engagement globally, building trusted relationships with governments, regulators, civil society organizations, academic institutions, and strategic partners. By bringing external perspectives into OpenAI—and helping communicate OpenAI’s priorities outward—we support thoughtful governance frameworks, responsible standards, and public understanding of AI technologies. We work closely across research, product, legal, communications, partnerships, and go-to-market teams to anticipate emerging issues, shape proactive engagement strategies, and advance OpenAI’s mission internationally.
