Director of Contracting

The Incumbent serves as the Senior Contracting Official (SCO), wielding broad authority to represent the AFSC Commander in high-level acquisition planning, strategic policy implementation, and the defense of contracting decisions before senior military leadership, Congressional members, and industry partners. This multifaceted role requires the executive direction of complex contracting functions-including pricing, research and development, and central support-while ensuring strict compliance with the Air Force Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (AFFARS) and other federal directives. Beyond strategic representation, the Director is responsible for process optimization, utilizing advanced management concepts to streamline operations, safeguard government assets, and enhance productivity across the sustainment enterprise.
