About the role
You will serve as a Mariner Credentialing Specialist and be responsible for licensing and documentation of merchant mariners and examining merchant marine personnel in accordance with applicable statutes and regulations. Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Typical work assignments include: Reviewing and processing applications including licenses, documents, endorsements, and certificates. Identifying non-conformities in application packages, such as incomplete documentation or eligibility issues, that may cause delays or preventing issuance of credentials. Responding to public and government inquiries by phone, email, written correspondence, or in person, interacting with other agencies as needed to complete tasks. Responsible for accurate entry of application information into appropriate systems. Drafting routine correspondence about credentialing requirements for supervisor's signature using standard computer software. Reasonable Accommod
