About the role
As Soil Conservationist, GS-0457, your typical work assignments may include, but not limited to: Assist and implement the comprehensive agency-wide conservation programs including the soil and moisture, and land operations programs. Stay informed of policies and procedures that could affect the conservation and environmental programs. Conduct field inspections to implement and monitor the soil and moisture conservation programs to landowners, lessees, and tenants. Conduct and coordinate environmental activities with other Federal and State agencies and organizations. Works with federal agencies, tribes, and other government entities to coordinate land use plans and address environmental and cultural issues. Conduct annual compliance checks to ensure adherence to conservation stipulations and takes corrective action when conditions warrant.
