BUDGET ANALYST

As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), performs complex budget execution and administration work involving the monitoring of obligations incurred and the actual expenditures of a budget with different sources and types of funding, such as direct annual, multi-year, and no- year appropriations; apportionments; allotments; transfer of funds from other agencies; revenue from industrially funded operations; and refunds. Develops and performs assigned budget execution/audit tasks to meet the needs of organization(s) at the operation level, while monitors the use and rate of expenditures of budgeted funds through continuing dialogue with program officials and their staff, review of written documents, and examination of accounting records. As a SME, provides advice, assistance, and guidance on budgeting and conducts comprehensive analyses, reviews, and special studies of budget and/or related information for assigned programs/organizations.
