About the role
The Chief of Bankruptcy, Collections, Distributions, and Receivership (BCDR) will work closely with the Division's Chief Litigation Counsel to oversee the process through which the SEC returns money to harmed investors - through distributions and the work of court-appointed receivers - and collects outstanding monetary judgments both in district court and bankruptcy proceedings. The BCDR Chief will consult with teams across the Division to determine whether a receivership, a bankruptcy trustee or a distribution is the best mechanism for benefitting investors in any particular Enforcement matter. Moreover, the BCDR Chief will ensure that the Commission is well represented in court and in administrative proceedings with regard to bankruptcy, collections, distribution, and receivership matters, and that consistent positions are taken and quality representation is consistently provided on a prompt and efficient basis.
