About the role
An appointment with the U.S. Attorney's Office offers unique and challenging experiences for the highly motivated attorney. Serving as an Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) and assigned to the Criminal or Civil Division, you will be part of a dedicated team helping to enforce federal criminal laws that protect life, liberty, and property of citizens. The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Michigan is seeking to hire AUSAs for our Criminal and Civil Divisions who will be assigned unique drug trafficking and immigration responsibilities. Assignments include, but are not limited to, investigating and prosecuting the following: Drug trafficking, including trafficking of fentanyl and its precursor chemicals, and illegal drug use. Immigration matters, including but not limited to: gang-related crimes involving aliens; child trafficking and smuggling involving aliens within the United States; unlawful voting by aliens; firearms trafficking and smuggling involving aliens;
