HUMAN RESOURCES SPECIALIST (EMPLOYEE BENEFITS)

As the Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits) you will be responsible for the following duties: The position serves as human resources specialist in the Human Resources Directorate, Programs Division and is responsible for advising managers, supervisors and employees on the processes and procedures of the Workers' Compensation Program (OWCP). Serves as primary contact for injury and unemployment compensation cases and ensures compliance with federal policy. Manages Workers' Compensation Program claims from injury through return to work, coordinating investigations and identifying issues or potential fraud. Provides guidance and training to management and staff on Federal Employees' Compensation Act requirements, case processes, leave options, and program responsibilities. Assesses reemployment and light-duty opportunities, collaborates with HR and supervisors to develop reasonable accommodations, and advises on actions to reduce continuation of compensation.
