Environmental Engineer - GEMS Coordinator

Major Duties and Responsibilities to include but not be limited to: Coordinates the efforts of Hampton VAMC staff involved with GEMS in order to ensure that the GEMS program is developed and implemented in accordance with VHA and VAMC policies and guidance. Ensures that the GEMS program shows continual improvement of the environmental programs at the Hampton VAMC. Applies environmental science and engineering practices and technology in order to demonstrate the relationships between the operation of the VAMC and human health, ecosystems, environmental media, and natural resources. Provides leadership and direction to management, professional, and technical personnel regarding the development and implementation of the GEMS at the Hampton VAMC. Plans, organizes, implements, oversees, and provides technical assistance with projects in order to resolve environmental problems.
