About the role
The primary purpose of this position is: To manage the Numbered Air Force (NAF) Flying Safety Mishap Prevention Program and Air Force Safety Program. Implements policies, standards and procedures governing safety programs with direct oversight for six flying units and nine different airframes. Performs annual Staff Assistance Visits (SA V) and assessments. Provides proactive education, training and hazard reduction through daily, monthly and quarterly safety information distribution. Serves as !\AF Aviation Safety Automated System (AVSAS) Administrator. Conducts detailed mishap investigation reviews, identifies causes and recommends corrective actions. Monitors the Bird Aircraft Strike Hazard Program (BASH), Midair Collision Avoidance (MACA) Program, Supervisor of Flying (SOF) Program, Hazardous Air Traffic Reports (HATR), Deficiency Reporting (DR), Time Compliance Technical Order (TCTO) implementation, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Program, Dropped Object Prevention Program (DOPP), debr
