About the role

This is a secondary law enforcement position. Under the authority of the Aviation and Transportation Security Act (ATSA) (PL 107-71, November 19, 2001), the incumbent functions as a Federal Law Enforcement Officer and performs the duties and responsibilities assigned to FAMs. The position serves as a Supervisory Air Marshal in Charge (SAC) of the San Francisco Field Office. FAMS is a component of Law Enforcement within the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in DHS. FAMS promotes public confidence in our Nation's civil transportation systems through effective risk-based strategic deployment of FAMs in both air and land based mission related assignments in the U.S. and abroad.
