About the role
The duties described are for the full-performance level. At developmental grade levels, assignments will be of more limited scope, performed with less independence and limited complexity. The duties may include, but are not limited to: Develop airworthiness safety program requirements for WS aviation activities. Assists the WS Aviation Management Officer (AMO) in conducting investigations of public complaints, congressional inquiries, and aircraft incidents and accidents. Provides verbal and/or written technical assistance to legal counsel, testifies at court trials and formal hearings, and gives depositions as directed by WS leadership. Assure that agency contractors are properly and adequately organized, staffed, and equipped. Conduct inspections to verify certification requirements (both fixed-wing and helicopter) for all agency and contract aircraft. Evaluate requests from agency and contract pilots/mechanics to make alterations to aircraft and approve or disapprove these requests.
