About the role
As a Museum Technician (History), you will perform the following duties: Unpacks objects and processes them (e.g., cleans, identifies, and preserves objects). Repacks objects, ensuring labeling that preserves data is associated with the objects. Catalogs objects; entering data into the designated catalog program. Files records in appropriate folders and affixes catalog numbers to objects. Prepares, maintains, and organizes manual and automated curatorial records including accession records, catalog records, loan forms, and donation forms. Maintains and organizes other records, such as inventories and object lists. Maintains and updates cataloging and database records. Performs routine research for catalog records, exhibits and other purposes as assigned. Implements museum environmental monitoring program (e.g., gathering data, maintaining monitoring equipment, preparing data record). Implements museum maintenance and housekeeping schedules.
