Carpenter

Plan and layout work in accordance with drawings, sketches, blueprints, and knowledge of construction. Measure and cut materials to exact specifications using straight, angle and curved cuts to ensure accurate fit, alignment, structural soundness and finished appearance. Use and set up hand and power tools and equipment. Install rafters, studs, sills plaster braces joists, floors, sub-floors, panels (including sheetrock, plywood, and veneers), sidings, sheathing, roofing, building paper, insulating materials, door and window frames, and interior and exterior trim. Paint a variety of surfaces such as the interior and exterior of buildings. Prepare surfaces, mix paints, and apply prime, intermediate and finish coats with brush, roller and spray gun. Operate motor vehicles with a load capacity of less than 4 tons necessary to move material, equipment and personnel to/from job sites.
