About the role

As the Director of Public Affairs, you will: Lead external and internal communications; develop and execute strategic communications strategy for the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP). Manage all requests for information and correspondence with the media and public regarding U.S. Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program equities, in coordination with the Department of Navy and Department of Energy Public Affairs. Serve as the public affairs expert and strategic advisor for the Naval Reactors Director and Deputy Director. Lead executive branch outreach efforts with senior U.S. government officials and U.S. Navy officers regarding Naval Reactors public affairs. Lead Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program emergency response and crisis communications efforts. Lead a small team of one military public affairs officer and two enlisted public affairs specialists. Manage of all Naval Reactors public affairs publications.
