Firefighter (Basic Life Support/ Hazardous Materials Technician)

Provide fire protection for a variety of structures and related areas. Position vehicle considering factors such as wind direction, sources of water, hazards from falling structures, location of armaments on aircraft, etc. Operate pumps, foam generators, boom and ground sweep nozzles, and other similar equipment. Operate hose lines, ladders, hydrants in the control and extinguishing of fires. Perform tests, minor maintenance, and repairs to ensure operational condition of equipment. Conduct rescue operations. Respond to hazardous chemical spills and assist in a full range of containment and runoff control duties.
