Carpenter

This Carpenter position is aligned under the Architectural Shop, Facilities Management Division, at the Clement J. Zablocki Medical Center, Milwaukee, WI. The work involves construction, altering, maintaining, and repairing buildings, structures, partitions, panels and other items using wood, wood substitutes, and composite building materials. Major Duties: Reads, interprets, and works from drawings and blueprints. Utilizes good carpentry practices, and follows state and federal codes. Performs wall, floor ceiling construction, lays sub-flooring in an expert fashion, and hangs suspended ceilings or attaches ceiling tile. Fabricates and installs Formica countertops and installs wall coverings. Cuts, sands, and plane lumber.-Installs and adjusts storm door checks. Repairs and inspects fire doors using local checklist. Performs carpentry tasks such as alterations and/or remodeling which includes removing and installing partitions, additions to buildings, opening of walls for installation
