Supervisory Medical Support Assistant

The Supervisory MSA plans and directs programs at the Central Virginia VA Health Care System within HBU and have full supervisory responsibility for supervising at least one subordinate team leader or team. The incumbent is responsible for and not limited to: Assigning and evaluating the work of Lead Medical Support Assistants, Advanced Medical Support Assistants and Medical Support Assistants. Resolving complex problems to ensure patient services are met. Evaluating new products, equipment, and systems in order to make recommendations for improved operations. Identifying educational or training needs. Making final decisions on selections; evaluating performance, and taking disciplinary action when necessary. Responsible for extracting and analyzing data in order to provide reports in support of performance measures to senior management. Provides influence, motivation and persuasion necessary to foster the acceptance and exercise of sound management concepts, practices and innovations
