Deputy Associate Administrator for Field Operations

The Deputy Associate Administrator for Field Operations: Maintains a close, collaborative relationship with the Deputy Associate Administrator for Policy and Programs to effectively integrate all hazardous materials transportation safety initiatives, programs, and responsibilities under the purview of OHMS, the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), and the Department of Transportation. This role involves managing the daily interface of hazardous materials safety and environmental programs within established operating parameters. It includes developing strategic and annual plans, identifying initiatives, and setting strategic goals. The position requires identifying problems related to hazmat safety, environmental issues, and emergency response, and recommending innovative regulatory and nonregulatory solutions to address these concerns.
