About the role
You will work from blueprints and engineering specifications to install F/A-18 aircraft service changes. You will fabricate metal repairs and modify F/A-18 aircraft sheet metal and composite structures and various component parts of the F/A-18 aircraft. You will disassemble, modify, repair, and assemble structural parts and aerodynamic surfaces on F/A-18 aircraft and aircraft components such as wings, stabilators, fuselages, tails, access panels, and metal components that make up the assemblies. You will install airframe changes, engineering modifications, structural repairs, and technical enhancements to meet aircraft maintenance requirements. You will manufacture new skins, patches, reinforcements, doublers, brackets, panels, and other sheet metal parts for installation utilizing bolts, rivets, and pins and other structural fasteners. You will work with a variety of metals such as aluminum, titanium, magnesium, steel, stainless steel, and other alloys.
