About the role
Performs maintenance, repairs, alterations, installation, and modifications on all types of high, medium, and low-pressure piping and steam systems throughout the medical center, including exterior and interior steam and condensate return lines, heating and cooling water, hydraulic, waste and sewer lines, water, gas, and air lines, piped oxygen systems, and fire suppression systems that require the service of a journeyman level pipefitter. This work extends to the appurtenant valves, traps, strainers, regulators, pumps, terminal fixtures, controls, and equipment that support facility operations such as heating, sterilizing, cleaning, and other steam-driven processes. Major duties include but are not limited to: Plans, layout, and install various pipe sections, fittings, risers, and flexible branches at prescribed levels and inclines per mechanical drawings, sketches, specifications, building plans, blueprints, shop drawings, and on-site inspection.
