SUPERVISORY ATTORNEY-ADVISER (GENERAL)

Serves as the Deputy General Counsel for the Total Force Pay Directorate in the DFAS OGC. Develops guidelines and a general framework for the formulation of division policies, plans, and programs to ensure the effective conduct of missions and functions assigned to OGC TFP Directorate. Work with senior leadership in the development of the organization's overall goals and objectives. Assures implementation of those goals and objectives. Resolves budget and resource priorities; and strategizes for long-range manpower requirements. Plans, organizes, and conducts extensive legal research, and renders opinions on legal cases involving extremely complex and difficult questions and factual situations. Interpret and apply legislation, laws, regulations, decisions, and opinions affecting DFAS and its customers, on legal issues related to civilian compensation, military pay and compensation, military retirement pay, and other entitlements.
