About the role
Charged with the overall operational and managerial responsibility for theproperty management, procurement, and contracting program for the institution. Independently executes and administers contracts for supplies, services, or construction. Provides legal interpretation, counseling, training, and guidance in all areas of contract and procurement, including analysis. Analyzes requirements for supplies, equipment, and services for adequacy and obtains additional data from requisitioning activity, as appropriate. Determines the most suitable method of procurement and tries to find new ways to improve production while ensuring that all requirements of law, governing regulations, and security policies have been met. Serves as the Administrative Contracting Officer (ACO) to monitor a contractor's performance in relation to the terms and conditions of the contract. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with the responsibility for maintaining security
