Information Receptionist

Serves as a receptionist for visitors entering the institution, provides necessary information, and arranges for contacts with appropriate departments. Processes all visitors entering the institution by checking their identification, and using a metal detector to ensure no weapons and contraband enter the institution. Checks all visitors' identification upon departure from the institution to ensure against potential inmate escapes. Initiates and responds to numerous calls within the institution, ascertaining the caller's identity before any exchange of information. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
