About the role
Please note: This is a term position not-to-exceed September 30, 2029, subject to availability of funds. This position may be extended, or made permanent, without further advertising. The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Texas has a vacancy for an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division. The position will be based in the Beaumont, Plano, Sherman, or Tyler office. Attorneys in the Civil Division represent the United States, its agencies, and their offices, in both defensive and affirmative litigation of claims involving, among other things, health care fraud, environmental matters, defense procurement fraud, torts, administrative enforcement actions, Touhy matters, prisoner litigation, housing and employment discrimination, and disability rights matters. The selected attorney will manage all aspects of civil immigration matters, including gathering evidence, taking testimony, writing briefs, and appearing in court at hearings and trials.
