About the role
Serve as a Journeyman electrician to install and repair a variety of electrical systems. Repair a wide variety of electrical equipment. Apply electrical theory and principles to complete repair and installation of electrical systems. Plan the layout of electrical wiring using blueprints, sketches and/or general instructions. Splice wires to connect fixtures, outlets, switches and receptacles to power source. Follow wiring diagrams to install electrical circuits. Use tools such as voltmeter, ampmeter, ohmmeter to test electrical circuits and equipment. Test old circuits to see if faulty condition is corrected after repairs. Troubleshoot various types of electrical problems.
