About the role
The Deputy Director of the Office of Clean Air Programs (OCAP), under the supervision of a Director, reports to the Assistant Administrator for Air and Radiation. The Office's programs fulfill domestic statutory requirements under the Clean Air Act (CAA) and the American Innovation and Manufacturing (AIM) Act. The Office is responsible for developing national standards for air quality; emissions standards for criteria and hazardous pollutants; and regulations, technical policies, guidelines, and criteria for air pollution control in the United States. The Office is also responsible for developing and implementing national and international programs focused on restoring the stratospheric ozone layer and phasing out hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), and related international treaty obligations of the United States.
