About the role
The primary purpose of this position is to function as the Auditor-in-Charge on small assignments, and as an audit team member on larger or more complex assignments. Duties performed: Assists in planning audit procedures of complex programs and operations in accordance with Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS). Actively participates in audit entrance and exit conferences. Analyzes and revises audit plans in accordance with GAGAS. Reviews and improves audit plans focusing on eliminating waste, eliminating abuse, and detecting and preventing fraud. Conducts a variety of audits, including but not limited to financial statement audits, information technology audits, Medicare audits, and performance audits. Prepares audit workpapers to summarize activities contained in the written audit plan. Develops all five elements of the audit finding and develops conclusions to each audit objective.
