About the role
Duties for the Chemist position include, but are not limited to the following: Providing on-demand communication with compliance field inspectors including technical assistance on analytical and sampling problems and non-routine or unanticipated circumstances. Reviewing analytical data obtained by other chemists for technical and mathematical accuracy, and reviewing project reports prepared by other chemists for clarity and technical validity. Performing complex and unusual technical and analytical assignments requiring critical thinking and the ability to modify established procedure. Providing technical guidance in area(s) of expertise to other analysts, technicians and compliance officers. Processing, preparing, analyzing, and reporting results for samples submitted by Agency field staff involved in OSHA compliance monitoring.
