Accountant (Staff)

Duties described reflect the full performance GS-12 level. Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision. Provide technical guidance and oversight for organizational accounting functions, including revolving funds, leave accounts, and construction in progress. Maintain and manage accounting records within the designated financial management system. Analyze and interpret accounting data from various organizational units to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies. Interpret and apply federal accounting laws, regulations, and policies to ensure compliance. Advise program managers on financial matters and provide recommendations based on professional accounting principles. Develop and implement control procedures to ensure the proper use of appropriated funds and prevent financial mismanagement.
