About the role
This position is an Airway Transportation System Specialist (ATSS), this position is a principal technical specialist responsible for performing work of broad scope and complexity. The ATSS provides the highest organizational level of technical support associated with analyzing and evaluating the most complex aviation equipment and airport traffic systems for which the FAA is responsible. Using broad experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of National Airspace System (NAS) power systems and equipment, the ATSS analyzes and evaluates new and updates legacy training initiatives and coursework. This work directly supports the work of the Air Traffic Organization (ATO) and contributes to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Safety Culture efforts. As a technical expert in power systems, the ATSS uses experience operating and maintaining NAS terminal and/or en route power systems, facilities, and services to review and evaluate NAS change proposals for impacts to national training
