About the role
As a Wildland Firefighter (Fuels Management) your duties will include but are not limited to the following: This is a supervisory code 4 and the primary purpose of this position is to direct prescribed fire/fuels management program that includes fuels management activities and functions at the unit/tribal level. Provide professional guidance in the development and implementation of multiple resource objectives including surveys, prescribed fire activities, fuels treatments, and fire management while adhering to applicable laws, regulations, policies, and guidelines. Participate in the development, review, and modification of prescribed fire plans. Monitor fire behavior, evaluate fire effects, identify potential problems, and take appropriate action. Assign work to lower graded staff based on priorities.
