Perform work on a rotating basis in all phases of a full-service Optical Fabrication Laboratory. Interpret spectacle prescriptions showing eyewear specifications such as pupillary distance, temple length, eye size, cylinder power and sphere power, axis and similar data. Operate lens generator to achieve desired lens characteristics to avoid lens breakage while maintaining desired cylinder, sphere curves, and thickness. Applies optical theory to a wide variety of complex optical process to ensure proper requirements are met. Perform final inspection of a wide variety of finished eyewear for possible flaws or faulty workmanship.
