MECHANICAL ENGINEER

This is a developmental position; duties listed below will be performed in a developmental capacity at the GS-11 grade level. At the full performance, GS-12, the incumbent will: Consults with and advises other team members within the Technical Engineering Branch about discrepancies or changes in design of specific features, additions or alterations to existing facilities, requiring their participation in design development. Evaluates field conditions as they apply to overall projects and resolves problems due to site conditions making improvements in the design, construction and operation of future projects. Ensures the coordination of design features and completed mechanical designs with other disciplines (e.g., electrical, structural, civil and architectural) to assure proposed design packages are properly coordinated and completed. Serves as technical authority for mechanical and utility systems in final on-site inspection for specialty and unique projects.
