Distribution Facilities Specialist

Performs analytical work concerned with receiving, handling, storing, issuing, or physically controlling items in storage, the selection of storage sites/facilities, materials handling equipment, and shipping and packing procedures. Organizes, develops, plans, and conducts studies and projects related to distribution operations, including bin and bulk storage space, shipping and packing procedures, and receiving and shipping functions. Performs workload analysis and collaborates with depot and management personnel to develop plans concerning workload processing, labor capabilities, and equipment resources. Studies functions and procedures of automated distribution systems; revises processes as necessary. Evaluates and monitors the implementation of systems, policies, and procedural changes to ensure efficacy and effectiveness.
