About the role
This position is in the Labor, Employment, and Litigation subgroup, a component of the Litigation and Administrative Practice Group in the Office of the General Counsel. The subgroup is primarily responsible for defending the Commission in administrative and federal court litigation and providing advice and representing the agency on matters involving employment and labor law and related matters. In this role as an Assistant General Counsel, you will be responsible for: Supervising representation of the Commission in federal district and appellate courts and administrative and grievance proceedings. Providing legal advice to the Commission and its members and employees on matters affecting the agency's mission and operations in the areas of employment law (including performance, conduct, and disciplinary issues and actions) and labor relations and represent the agency in federal court and administrative litigation.
