Director, Waste Identification, Notice, and Generators Division

The Waste Identification, Notice, and Generators Division (WINGD) is responsible for developing, conducting research, and implementation of regulations and guidance for the management of coal combustion residuals (CCR) and other industrial wastes. The division also develops, conducts research, and implements regulations and guidance governing hazardous waste generation, exclusions, and the definition of solid waste. WINGD serves as the lead for all issues pertaining to the movement of waste in and out of the country, as well as global engagement on international waste issues. Specific duties of the position may include, but are not limited to: Planning, developing, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating several major programs for which the Director is assigned Agency-wide responsibility, including advising on hazardous waste characterization under Section 3001 of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, data and waste assessment activities, special hazardous waste generator regu
