About the role
The Assistant Inspector General for Investigations (AIGI) is a critical leadership position in FCC OIG who is responsible for the development, implementation, and supervision of an investigations program that is comprehensive, effective, and responsive to FCC OIG's interests and needs. The job duties of the AIGI include: Serve as the principal advisor to the IG in the development and implementation of OIG's investigative activities, standards, procedures, and priorities. Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Office of Investigations and supervises an investigative team. Keep the IG informed, through regular formal and informal oral briefings, on significant investigative findings, outreach, and proactive efforts. Assist the IG with briefings for internal and external stakeholders and providing timely information responsive to inquiries from Congress and other stakeholders.
