About the role

Assists in planning and conducting criminal, civil, and administrative investigations involving suspected fraud, waste, abuse, and illegal activity affecting OPM programs. Reviews allegations, records, claims, financial information, and other case data to identify fraud indicators, investigative leads, and evidence. Assists with interviews of witnesses, subject-matter experts, program officials, and other sources to obtain information and verify facts. Coordinates routine investigative steps with supervisors, senior agents, law enforcement partners, program offices, and Federal Employees Health Benefits carriers. Prepares investigative plans, case updates, written reports, interview summaries, and documentation of investigative actions for review.
