About the role

Assists with local implementation of the environment of care program, which includes planning, directing, and coordinating the implementation of local policy pertaining to the following environment of care program areas: Emergency Operations, Utilities Management, Medical Equipment Management, Safety Management, Fire Safety Management, Hazardous Materials and Waste Management (including Infectious Waste Management and Control) and Security Management. Assists the supervisor in the development, implementation, and oversight of written management plans addressing the major program areas of the environment of care. Assists the Emergency Preparedness Officer with emergency management drills, and completes the Hazard Vulnerability Analysis annually. Ensures the hospital's utility systems and medical equipment, are in compliance with the Utilities Management Plan and Joint Commission standards, and are maintained at regular intervals.
