HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT

This is a developmental position. The incumbent will perform the duties of the below Human Resources Assistant, within his/her skill level and ability. Upon satisfactory completion of required training and experience requirement, and with supervisory recommendation, the incumbent will be noncompetitively promoted to the target grade (NF-03). Serves as an authoritative source of information on procedural and regulatory requirements pertaining to HR personnel matters. Provides guidance and informational resources to supervisors and employees. Explains employee rights and responsibilities. Receives and reviews personnel action requests and supporting documents for validity and completion. Conducts strategic recruitment discussions to advise on recruitment strategies. Advises on permanent and/or temporary placement actions. Explains hiring preferences and priority considerations in the recruitment process to management and/or applicant.
