Smokejumper Spotter

As a Forestry Technician (Smokejumper), your duties will include but are not limited to the following: Plans and directs the aerial attack of single or numerous fires, directing smokejumper operations for the incident(s). Operates a remote smokejumper spike base, serving as the sole representative interacting and coordinating with dispatch centers, agency managers, and smokejumper managers. Performs as an Incident Commander on complex and emerging wildfires. Serves as an active smokejumper and parachute rigger/rigging supervisor. Performs a wide variety of administrative functions including unit logs, aircraft records, safety records. Serves as direct supervisor for subordinate smokejumpers.
