Loan Specialist

As a Loan Specialist at theGS-1165-9, some of your typical work assignments may include: Reviews a variety of consumer and commercial loan documents, most of which include consideration and evaluation of complicating factors; inventories collateral; obtains appraisals and liquidating value of inventoried property. Analyzes financial statements of obligors and endeavors to determine their prospects for continued payment on consumer and commercial loans in connection with modification of payments or other loan terms; investigates and determines financial responsibility of obligors who may be liable for the payment of indebtedness for use in recommending collection procedures, or legal actions to enforce payment. Provides necessary information, as needed, to legal staff in preparing various releases and other documents to be executed on behalf of SBA; evaluates requests for releases of lien in order to obtain the greatest possible recovery.
