About the role
You will review and evaluate the technical adequacy of logistics support, maintenance, and modification programs accomplished by HIINC (Huntington Ingalls Industries) You will provide surveillance of Contractor design and production engineering products. You will conduct surveillance of Contractor engineering practices (including subcontractors) to the extent necessary to demonstrate that the Contractor is meeting contract and specification requirements. You will review and evaluate requests for Departure from Specifications (DFS) (including “engineering equivalencies”) and initiate actions required to process the requests and make recommendations for approval or rejection. You will review engineering studies, design and technical aspects of proposals (including reasonableness of engineering equivalency, man-hours and scope of work involved when requested by the Contracting Officer).
