About the role
As a Supervisory Accountant, you will: Directs and performs federal accounting activities, including general ledger accounting and ensuring compliance with reporting, appropriations law, and fiscal controls. Analyzes complex budgetary, financial, and policy issues to identify risks, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop viable solutions and recommendations for management decision-making. Prepares, reviews, and approves clear, technically sound written materials, including issue papers, decision memoranda, formal responses, briefing materials, guidance documents, training materials, or responses to oversight inquiries. Represents the organization in budget meetings, briefings, and hearings to present, explain, and defend complex financial and policy information to senior leaders and external stakeholders. Formally supervises and directs the work of subordinate staff, including planning and assigning work, evaluating performance, providing feedback, and supporting staff development.
