IT SPECIALIST (AI)

Lead in technical problem solving and AI, as it applies to internal and external challenges at CMS, this incumbent performs complex, sensitive, high-level technical work, including AI governance. Serve as an agency subject matter expert in AI technologies. Contributes to formulation of Information Technology (IT) policies, procedures, and technical guidance necessary for the implementation of agency AI systems. Serve as the technical advisor to the leadership team across the agency and provides consulting support to various components of CMS looking to leverage work under the AI umbrella. Apply AI design expertise to advise and consult with partner agencies on modern AI product, platform, and/or service design methodologies, tools, techniques, and ways of thinking. Monitor complex technical, proof of concept, prototype, pilot, and operational aspects of programs and projects using technology, including AI.
